Whenever I get bored of Skyrim, I mod the game to make it more interesting, rather than waiting for expensive expansions. Game becomes 3x more fun when the combat system is both balanced and challenging thanks to decent AI.
Katawa Shoujo isn't even technically Japanese is it? I got the impression most who worked on it weren't Japanese and simply took inspiration and modelled it after the typical galge. The guy who wrote this article clearly doesn't know much about the Japanese game industry, if he's baffled by visual novels.
Perhaps should actually try these things before slagging them off, because Katawa Shoujo being put in the same league as imagine party babyz is an insult.
I'd actually agree with most of these, they might be popular, but they're all several games into their franchises. Us gamers might be new IP adverse, since it's always a gamble, but the way we're latching onto just a few franchises is getting ridiculous.
At least popular series like Elder Scrolls and GTA have the decency to only release once every 4-5 years...
4.75/5 for something that is desperately trying to be something else? 'the fundamentals of play that set the shooter apart from other games are still there' He says, but what? There's no vehicles which are pratically the quintessence of battlefield there is little room for proper teamwork, the new conquest gameplay consists of running laps around the map 100 times between the 3 flags that are about 80 metres away from each other.
Tell me, how is this like planning...
First I was aware of this being turned into a 'game'. So it turns out its just a visual novel with a mini-game where you get to talk to menma... I guess they didn't have to flip the coin of heads its a beat-em-up, tails its a VN for this adaptation.
This list is mostly obvious to any BF vets. Though it mentions single fire mode, it doesn't mention how (Down on the D-Pad on the consoles). Personally, it took me a while to find this out, and I was first among my friends to do so, so just something to console gamers who can't see the bindings like the PC.
I'd second flanking as well, even a poor marksman can get easy kills, if you're shooting someone who doesn't see you from medium range or less.

I had one of these last year. Mic came loose and fell out. Also, its really uncomfortable after about an hour. I'd recommend getting an X11 or better.
And people say PC gamers are naught but graphics whores -_-
Im rank 49, and only something like 30,000 off 50, and 1 kill away from G3 Plat... I'd take it easy until BF3s out, but my Xbox live golds going to expire in a week... And this after around 400 hours of play, though I'd be there already, if I wasn't the only one of my friends who knows how to fly a blackhawk properly... pilots don't get rewarded enough.
Bipods sound cool, but I'm hoping they don't go too over the top with customisation. It's not COD, they're not getting tailor-made builds out of a gun catalog.
The jamming is fine, but as long as A) It happens to the enemies to, B) There isnt an unlimited supply of weapons, after a small one time purchase, that instantly restock, therefore jamming is completely circumvented by regularly going to the gun store and grabbing fresh new guns.
I think rather than having so many checkpoints, it would be cooler to have a few foot patrols, to keep you on your toes. Vehicle patrols weren't as fun, as it just required changing to the vehic...
I'm curious to where people are perceiving the price to be much higher from. Have people compared GAME's price to competitors? The price difference between Amazon (Traditionally one of the cheapest retailers) and GAME is £0.09 on the PC, and a shocking £0.10 on Console. Granted these prices might change a bit before release, but I doubt the difference will go beyond a fiver.
I'd agree with the boycott, but the actual amount of exclusive content is tiny. The Type 88 LMG was consistently awful throughout the patches in BC2, even after pratically nerfing all the others, due to its low rate of fire, and low damage.
The day 1 access to DAO-12 is pretty insignifcant, and unless the 2 accessories prove to be overpowered, its an otherwise pretty small and worthless exclusive.
I know the argument is at the fundementals of offering exc...
Hey, some of us stuck to our guns, you can see my steam tag on the side, playing dragon age. Never bought a COD game since, never will.
@MintBerryCrunch
I think the name constantinople lingered around a long time after its fall, though it was also informally called Stambol well before then, from which Istanbul is derived from.
I think the Mosque in the background is the Hagia Sophia, which was built in 532 AD (In its current form), but converted from an Orthodox church, to a mosque after 1453.
I think the use of what looked like Greek Fire on the ships might not be historical...
It is kinda annoying that reviewers dont make full use of a scoring range, but when they do, the lower score tends to get bashed, anyway...
Scores are taken far too seriously anyway, to the point where they seem to have more importance than the actual review. A score can be a good way of describing quality at a glance, but there are various aspects making a game good and bad, so the reviewer is essentially balancing these things out with the score, where as the importance of ...
Why is everyone assuming BF3 is going to be all about Rush? The map design for conquest really didnt work well on BC2 imo, which is why rush is far more often played, but this might not be the case on BF3.
A lot of these issues people are having about being trapped in the base arent all that apparent on conquest, providng the level and game design prevents spawn killing in the home/uncap point.
For all we know though, conquest is going to be the meat and grav...
I'm not sure if this article has really interpeted the interview right, I'd like to see the source. Wouldn't this mean, if you play the game properly, but that way inherently annoys someone, I.e. playing Spy on TF2, that you'd have to pay more for the game? How do you define how fun you are to play with?
It also discriminates against newbs, both because they wouldn't have a fun index, as they haven't played anything yet, and because they're still lear...
I agree, I think freedom is the greatest benefit of PC gaming. Certain games that have a huge modding community, can be completely deeper and richer experience on the PC. Its the creative spirit, not the graphical potential, that I find most rewarding to the PC gamer.
I do still love the Imperial City's sheer expanse for an ES game city, though it wasn't necessarily the coolest looking one, it was just amazing how much time you could spend there.
For Fallout though, I think Megaton or some of New Vegas's locales such as New Vegas itself or perhaps Freeside were much cooler than Rivet City - once you were inside, it was just the same dull looking place as half the maintenance corridors you were in.
Venice in AC2...
